Books by Martin David
The husband-and-wife team of David Martin, F.S.A., I.H.B.C., M.I.F.A. and Barbara Martin, A.I.F.A. has been involved in the study of historic buildings in south-east England since the early 1970s. Prior to joining the Field Archaeology Unit/Archaeology South-East as Historic Buildings Officers in 1992 they jointly ran the Rape of Hastings Architectural Survey. Together they have surveyed, analysed, and reported on over 1,700 historic buildings in the area and have published widely. Their most recent major work (in association with others) was a re-assessment of the medieval port town of New Winchelsea, Sussex, published in 2004 by Heritage Books on behalf of English Heritage and University College London Field Archaeology Unit. David is a Research Fellow of University College London and, from 1999 until 2001, served a three-year term as President of the Vernacular Architecture Group.
