Books by Mary McMurtrie
Born in 1902, Mary McMurtrie studied at Gray's School of Art in Aberdeen and for over forty years had a nursery specialising in alpine and old garden flowers. She has collected and painted the wild flowers of Scotland, the Algarve and Kenya, specialising in watercolours, and exhibitions of her work have been seen in Scotland, England and France. Among her published works are Scots Roses of Hedgerows and Wild Gardens and a series of small books on Algarve flowers, shrubs and trees. Mary McMurtrie lives near Aberdeen where she continues to collect and plant wild flowers.
