Maryon Stewart studied preventive dentistry and nutrition at the Royal Dental Hospital in London and worked as a counsellor with nutritional doctors in England for four years. At the beginning of 1984 she set up the PMT Advisory Service which has subsequently helped thousands of women world-wide. In 1987 she launched the Women's Nutritional Advisory Service which now provides broader help to women of all ages.
Maryon Stewart is the author of the best-selling books No More PMS!, now in its Third Edition, Beat Sugar Craving, Beat the Menopause Without HRT, Healthy Parents, Healthy Baby, The Natural Health Bible and Maryon Stewart's Zest for Life Plan. She has had her own weekly radio programme on health and nutrition; she has co-written several medical papers, and has written articles for many glossy magazines, including Marie Claire, Cosmopolitan, Chat, Woman's Journal, BBC Good Health, Woman's Own, Health & Fitness and for both The Daily Mirror and Daily Mail.
She has also appeared on several popular TV magazine shows, such as TV AM, GMTV, Top of the Morning, Channel Four Food File, BBC Here and Now, Good Morning with Annie &Nick, Reportage, Meridian, Carlton, MSkyB, The Miriam Stoppard Health & Beauty Show, This Morning, Pebble Mill, Channel Four, Streetwise and TVS. She has contributed regularly to Capital Woman, has done a series of programmes for Yorkshire TVs Help Yourself programmes and has helped Anglia TV with their Bodyworks series. Maryon has written her own regular page in the magazines House and Garden, Healthy Eating and Good Health, and now writes regular articles for both the national daily newspapers and women's magazines. She is also on the Expert Panel of Contributors for Top Sante magazine and frequently lectures to both the lay public and medical profession. In a Good Housekeeping survey published in November 1999, she was voted the 51st most influential woman in Great Britain. She is married to Dr Alan Stewart; they live in Lewes, Sussex, with their four children.
