Maureen Donegan was born and educated in Huddersfield and has also lived in Ireland, where she was a long-time scriptwriter. Tuscan Shadows is her first novel. Maureen visits Tuscany as often as she can but lives in Rome, one the best cities in the world, she says. She loves Naples too, where she has an extended Italian family.
