P. Scott Richards received his PhD in counseling psychology in 1988 from the University of Minnesota, USA. He has been a faculty member at Brigham Young University, USA since 1990 and is a professor in the Department of Counseling Psychology and Special Education. He is coauthor of A Spiritual Strategy for Counseling and Psychotherapy (1997, 2005), coeditor of the first edition of Handbook of Psychotherapy and Religious Diversity (2000), and coauthor of Spiritual Approaches in the Treatment of Women with Eating Disorders (2007), all of which were published by APA.
Allen E. Bergin received his PhD in clinical psychology in 1960 from Stanford University, USA. He was a faculty member at Teachers College, Columbia University, USA, from 1961 to 1972, and a professor of psychology at Brigham Young University (BYU), USA from 1972 until his retirement in 1999. Dr. Bergin is past-president of the Society for Psychotherapy Research and co-editor of the classic Handbook of Psychotherapy and Behavior Change. He is co-author of A Spiritual Strategy for Counseling and Psychotherapy (1997, 2005).
