Pamela Hartmann taught in Korea (through the Peace Corps) and then in Greece before returning to California, where she taught at UCLA, USC, Santa Monica College, West Los Angeles College, Pepperdine University, and for thirty years in the Intensive English Program at Evans Community Adult School, in the Los Angeles Unified School District. In recent years, her interest has focused on evolving methods in teaching ELT, on new research in the teaching of vocabulary, and on the benefits of using authentic content in ELT textbooks. Nancy Douglas is a teacher, materials writer, and editor who has been in ELT for over twenty years. She has extensive experience working with students from around the world and has co-authored several courses, including the best-selling series World Link and Reading Explorer. She has also edited print and Web-based materials for English language learners as well as professional development courses for teachers. Andrew Boon is an associate professor at Toyo Gakuen University. He has been teaching in Japan for over 15 years and is currently an Aston University PhD student. He has published articles on teacher development, motivation, and methodology and presented at numerous conferences.
