Dr Paul Clayton is the UK's leading expert in the fast-developing science of pharmaco-nutrition - the study of the active pharmacological agents in foods and how they can be harnessed for our health. He is a fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine and was a former Senior Scientific Advisor to the UK government's Committee on the Safety of Medicines. He designs clinical trials for nutritional therapies at leading teaching hospitals and has trained the pharmacists in Britain's largest chemist chain in preventative nutrition. He teaches pharmaco-nutrition at the Royal College of General Practitioners and is secretary of the Forum on Food and Health at the Royal Society of Medicine. He frequently presents at and chairs international conferences on nutrition and health, most recently at the Academie de France.
