RAYMOND J. CORSINI, PhD, has been in private practice since 1965. He is an affiliate professor with the graduate faculty in psychology at the University of Hawaii. He also serves on the editorial boards of Individual Psychology, Journal of Poetry Therapy, and Journal of Cognitive Psychology. He received the James McKeen Cattell Award, the Hawaii Psychological Association Significant Professional Contribution Award, and the Sertoma Educational Award. Dr. Corsini has edited or coedited 19 books, including Encyclopedia of Psychology, Encyclopedia of Aging, and Handbook of Innovative Psychotherapies. He is the author of 13 books, including Five Therapists and One Client, Effective Discipline in the Home & the School, Coping with Your Teenager, and Individual Psychology: Theory and Practice. Dr. Corsini received his doctorate in psychology from the University of Chicago and received postdoctoral training at the Alfred Adler Institute.
ALAN J. AUERBACH is Associate Professor at Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario, where he has taught a wide variety of courses for some 30 years. His interest in definitions led to his reviewing eight psychology dictionaries for the review journal Contemporary Psychology. He has written extensively for the public as a newspaper columnist--he was named "Consumer Educator of the Year" by the Province of Ontario in 1992--as well as for the academic community in journals and in books. He is the author of The World of Work.
