He drew more than 250,000 illustrations during his lifetime and is the author of the bestselling New York, Line by Line, as well as Paris, Line by Line. Robinson died in 1994 at the age of 83. Today, with the existence of such graphics programs as Freehand and Illustrator, Robinson is considered a pioneer, his technique an example and inspiration for many illustrators.
