Roger Mader was inspired to write this book by his niece's cat, who roams the rooftops of her neighborhood and survived a six-story fall. Roger was also inspired by the Parisian cityscape and took reference photographs for his pastel paintings from the rooftops of the Centre Pompidou (Beaubourg), the Tour Montparnasse, and the Institut du Monde Arabe in Paris, France. He lives in the Normandy countryside with his wife, Martine, and their little cat, Pete--who does not hop from rooftop to rooftop!
