Tom Heneghan is Senior Correspondent for Reuters Paris bureau.
As Reuters Chief Correspondent for Germany from 1989 to 1997, he covered all the major issues and events discussed in the book. After the fall of the Berlin Wall his main focus was on Germany's reunification and its political, economic and social effects. He has traveled widely in eastern Germany to report on its problems and the continued split with the west.
He regularly provides expert analysis on Germany for tevlevision and radio worldwide
Born in 1951 in New York, he studied modern languages and international relations in New York, Boston and Goettingen, West Germany. Since joining Reuters in 1977 he has worked as a correspondent and editor in three dozen different countries during assignments in London, Vienna, Geneva, Islamabad, Bangkok, Hong Kong, Bonn and Paris.
