Vanessa Baird is a co-editor of the best-selling world-development magazine, The New Internationalist. She has researched and edited many issues on gender political themes including 'Personal Violence', 'Pride and Prejudice: lesbian and gay rights', and 'Feminism in the 1990s'. Previously she was a Lima-based journalist reporting on the Andean countries for the Peruvian Times. She lives in Oxford.
