Werner Weidenfeld is professor of political science at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich, Germany, and director of the Center for Applied Policy Research. Between 1987 and 1999, he was the German government's coordinator for German-American cooperation. Josef Janning is deputy director of the Center for Applied Policy Studies at Ludwig-Maximilians-University, Munich, Germany. Sven Behrendt is with the university's Research Group on European Affairs.
