The autobiography of an aviation pioneer from his early service and training alongside Sir Frank Whittle (of jet engine fame), through biplane experiences as an engineer and pilot, to World War II service as an RAF Engineer Officer in the Western Desert. After the war, he bacame a senior engineer with De Havilland and investigated the Comet jet airliner crashes before finally retiring to Shropshire.
