Summary

Set in 1939, this is the story of Louis Seynaeve, a 10 year-old Flemish boy with a wild imagination. He is a student at a convent boarding school, but his chief interest is in his secret society, the Apostles. However his life changes when the Nazis invade Flanders, and he begins to grow up fast.
