Wild Plants of Glasgow: Conservation in the City and Countryside by J.H. Dickson
This book deals with the distribution and ecology of many of the 1100 wild plants that grow in the city of Glasgow and its surroundings. Large cities and their environs have increasingly great importance in plant and therefore animal conservation, and Glasgow has outstandingly good examples of urban and nearby rural habitats. However, these habitats are in no essential way peculiar to Glasgow and the issues raised have direct implications for British and north European cities in general.
