Practical Copyright for Information Professionals Summary

Practical Copyright for Information Professionals: The CILIP Handbook by Sandy Norman

De-mystifies the complicated law of copyright and related rights. The author provides commonsense, practical guidance on respecting and keeping on the right side of the copyright law in your library or information service. The recent changes emanating from the EU Copyright Directive are covered extensively together with in-depth chapters on compliance with the new rules. Although this is a one-size-fits-all guide, sectoral differences are highlighted and discussed. Readership: As well as being an indispensable guide for library and information staff, the guide is also essential for researchers, academics, teachers, reprographics staff and technicians - and, indeed, for anyone who uses, or wants to learn about using, copyright material.

Practical Copyright for Information Professionals Reviews

"The handbook consists of ten chapters of digestible length, still further divided into coherent and logical sequence of paragraphs. At the end of each the author offers a further simplification in the form of "Ten things to remember from this chapter". Thus, the structure of the handbook makes it easy to use for quick reference by identifying the encountered difficulty and finding the relevant guidance." -- Information Research
