Born in Southport, Lancashire, Paul Bilton became what is known somewhat unaffectionately as a 'paper Swiss'. After a short careen in advertising and then in magazine publishing, he moved to Switzerland to become an 'Auslaender' in Switzerland. He now writes, broadcasts and gives talks about Swiss life.
