WILLIAM F. HENDRIE is regular contributor to the Scots Magazine and the Sunday Post. He was born in Stirlingshire and educated at Bo'ness. He is a former Head Teacher and Educational Adviser to Scottish Television, for which he wrote a number of programmes. He works extensively with radio and is heavily involved in local history. He is the author of a number of books including Discovering the Firth of Forth, Discovering West Lothian and histories of Livingston and Linlithgow. He currently lives in Torphichen, West Lothian.
