This review of current practice is largely concerned with the diagnosis and management of childhood cancer, but also gives full coverage of such important topics as: coping with the diagnosis; impact on the family; and care of the dying child. General approaches to therapy, which now achieves long-term survival in more than 50 per cent of cases, are described, together with detailed coverage of treatments used for all types of tumours likely to be met in daily practice.
