Shining Souls Zusammenfassung

Shining Souls Chris Hannan

A riotously funny comedy with a gallery of unforgettable characters, published here in a revised version alongside its revival at the Tron Theatre, Glasgow, in 2003.

It's Ann's wedding day - but she's in two minds who to marry because there are two men in her life and they are both called Billy. Meanwhile her daughter Mandy wants to save souls - and makes a start with Charlie, who is on the dole and on the make. And then there's Nanette and her friend Prophet John... Soon there are nine characters in search of their souls, some sex and a wardrobe.

Chris Hannan's play Shining Souls was first staged at the Traverse Theatre, Edinburgh, in 1996. It was revived, in this revised version, at the Tron Theatre, Glasgow, in 2003.

Shining Souls Bewertungen

'A joy... a generous-hearted drama set among the hopeless, the helpless, the impoverished and the aimlessly drifting in present-day urban Scotland... a marvellous gift for comedy, blissfully funny demotic dialogue... a depth of compassion in the writing... combines hilarity with heartache'

* Daily Telegraph *

'A seriously funny play, and a welcome return for Chris Hannan'

* Independent *

'A winner'

* Sunday Telegraph *
