Fiona Waters has spent all her working life with children's books. She has been a bookseller and editor, and now runs a book club, working closely with UK schools and libraries. She is a consultant, a reviewer and an expert compiler, whose previous anthologies include the acclaimed Golden Apples poetry collection (William Heinemann) and Stories for Bedtime (Orchard). Fiona Waters lives in Dorset. Patrice Aggs was born in Detroit, Michigan, but moved to London to study Fine Arts at the City & Guilds Art School. She works full-time as a painter, illustrator and printmaker. She has illustrated many books for children, including The Sleepy Book, Soft and Noisy, Why Count Sheep? and The Visitor, as well as The Kingfisher Treasury of Ballet Stories. She lives in Sussex.
