As the Asia-Pacific region continues to undergo an accelerated process of change, relationships on many levels are shifting, among the six ASEAN countries, between the two Koreas and China and Japan, between Japan and the rest of the region, and between trading blocs. The papers in this volume examine key aspects of change in the region and the implications these have for foreign investors. The papers look at the changing role of Japan in the region, the emerging power of Hong Kong and China in the approach to 1997, and the process of democratization in Taiwan and South Korea.
