This well booklet was originally developed from training notes used at the internationally known Bethlem Royal and Maudsley Hospitals, London. The second edition has been expanded to include new topics which are now integrated into general psychiatric training. There are new or expanded notes on forensic and old age psychiatry, neuropsychiatry, and mental handicap, as well as a detailed section on child psychiatry. The booklet should continue to prove an guide for trainees embarking on a career in psychiatry. Readership: postgraduate and final-year first-degree medical students studying psychiatry.
