The activities in this book on language and literacy aim to give young children a wide range of early language experiences. They cover talking and listening, developing expressive language, reading skills, sharing books and early writing skills. These photocopiable activity books provide new activities that build on the ideas in the first six books in the Learning in the Early Years series. They aim to provide educators of 3-5 year-olds with a collection of ready-made photocopiable activity ideas based on the Desirable Outcomes. The sheets make use of many of the resources typically found in any nursery, such as paints, scissors, counters and glue. All the ideas are supported by notes for the adult, explaining the ways in which the sheet can be used and giving clear learning objctives. The main introduction to the book suggests ways of adapting the sheets to suit individual needs and to provide links with home.
