It draws attention to the process of political fragmentation within and between states taht is happening alongside the emergence of supranational institutions, transnational movements, and the growth of superstates, with a mixture of text and readings. It explores the kind of global politics we are witnessing through a number of issues such as the alleged emergence of a new world order, the impact of Islam as a global force, the rise of regions in an interdependent world, and the notion of the break-up of the nation state.
