Support through service intervention has been found to reduce carer's stress levels, improve the quality of their lives and prevent the breakdown of care.
This work explores the complex relationship between family carers and statutory service providers from the caregiver's perspective. Hidden carers are so called because as non-users of welfare services they are invisible to the statutory care providers. Why, when care-giving is burdensome and stressful do so many provide care without support from the service providers?
