The Mistletoe Bride and Other Haunting Tales Kate Mosse

A wonderfully atmospheric collection of stories from one of our most captivating writers, inspired by ghost stories, traditional folk tales and country legends from England and France. These tales are richly populated by spirits and ghosts seeking revenge; by grief-stricken women and haunted men coming to terms with their destiny - all rooted deep in the elemental landscapes of Sussex, Brittany and the Languedoc. The collection will include The Mistletoe Bride, La Fille de Melisande, Red Letter Day, The Lending Library, The House on the Hill...Features short stories read by Simon Russell Beale and Sian Thomas and author's notes and introductions read by Kate Mosse.

The Mistletoe Bride and Other Haunting Tales Bewertungen

Simon Russell Beale and Sian Thomas give atmospheric readings of Mosse's retellings of fireside chillers. DAILY MAIL [I]t's a collection that will beguile a few wintry hours on the motorway... -- Carole Mansur THE TELEGRAPH Kate Mosse lets rip on eerie stories, too, in her collection The Mistletoe Bride. All the zany supernatural elements in her immensely successful novels are released, unfettered by any hint of realism, in versions of old Breton, Provencal and Sussex legends, interspersed with her own author's notes. Two magnificent readers - Simon Russel Beale and Sian Thomas - make these easy to listen to, and good, spooky fun. -- Sue Gaisford THE INDEPENDENT ON SUNDAY
