St Tiggywinkles, the Stockers' garden rescue centre, has grown in twelve years to become Europe's first purpose built wildlife teaching hospital, caring not only for hedgehogs but for many other species of wild creature, from barn owls and badgers to starlings and seals. "The Hedgehog and Friends" contains tales of orphaned foxes, hedgehogs in Parliament Square, badgers on television and also life-saving plastic surgery on Mikki, the wild rabbit. The book includes charts and practical instructions on how to feed and care for wild creatures.
