Harley-Davidson Zusammenfassung

Harley-Davidson: A Visual History Mac McDiarmid

What makes a Harley-Davidson special? "If you have to ask...", as the saying goes,"...you wouldn't understand". What rolls out of the company's Milwaukee plant year after year is as much myth as motorcycle - the stuff of legends, lifestyles and dreams. This book takes a revered marque to new heights with over 400 colour photographs depicting the history of the company from its humble origins to its ascendancy as the premier motorcycle manufacturer in the world. Discover the cult of Harley-Davidson: the customized bike scene, the monster rally gatherings, the biker gangs and its Hollywood cool. Although Harleys are not synonymous with competition, the volume includes a section on racing to capture the spirit of a legendary motorbike manufacturer.

Über Mac McDiarmid

Mac McDiarmid is an internationally renowned motorcycle journalist and photographer who has ridden Harley-Davidson bikes on four continents. A former editor of Bike magazine, he has seven previous books to his credit and is also a regular contributor to motorcycle magazines in over a dozen countries. His motorcycle career began in 1970 and since then he has ridden machines as diverse as Jawa ice speedway bikes, Rover V-8 specials and factory Norton racers. He admits, however, that few experiences can match that of thundering a Harley-Davidson across the surreal moonscapes of Utah.
