Test papers and exercises at the end of each chapter enable students missing any evening lectures to use the book for self-instruction. Both Pat Langley-Price and Philip Ouvry hold Ocean Yachtmaster Certificates and are qualified RYA instructors. Pat has the practical experience gained during thousands of miles sailed during yacht deliveries and also as an instructor. Philip served in the Royal Navy for 20 years and was an Examining Officer of Naval Yacht skippers. Together they run an RYA Approved sailing school based at Hamble with a shore-based establishment in London.
