A Song for Nagasaki Zusammenfassung

A Song for Nagasaki Paul Glynn

This is the biography of Takashi Nagai, a Japanese radiologist at Nagasaki University, who survived the atom bomb attack to die six years later of radiation sickness. Nagai became known as the Gandhi of Japan through his medical work, which brought help and relief to many; and through his writing, which made him known beyond the boundaries of Japan. An inspiring book, it records one man's journey from Shintoism, through atheism to Christianity. In the nuclear wilderness after the atom bomb attack, Nagai dedicated his life and medical skills to the service of the victims of Nagasaki. Sustained by his deep faith in the love of God - even in the face of such suffering - he brought a message of hope to his countrymen. As his body died, his spirit grew ever stronger, bearing resentment neither against man nor God.
