The 16 especially written chapters focus in turn on the individual worker, on issues of personal relationships and intergroup dynamics and on questions of organizational structure and change. They deal also with skill and workload, hours of work, training, personnel selection, leadership and management, the effect of jobs on mental health and the impact of computers, information technology and expert systems. And, reflecting other developments in society, women in employment, work-role transitions and psychological aspects of unemployment are also given treatment.
