Supportive or complementary therapies are gaining increasing recognition in today's health care arena. This is particularly so amongst the nursing profession since many, if not all, supportive therapies both complement and enhance holistic care. This text introduces a wide range of complementary therapies at an introductory yet sufficiently detailed level to all those concerned in care giving, especially nurses. The text is research based, and includes an appendix of useful addresses offering details of selected complementary therapy organizations and courses.
