This students' book contains 20 units, including four consolidation units, plus a starter unit, providing material for 90-120 hours of teaching. There are language reviews in each of the main units and a vocabulary list, grammar index and tapescript at the back of the book. The consolidation units (every fith one) give students the opportunity to revise key language, while "Thinking about Learning" sections allow them to consider their own learning strategies. They can also monitor their progress in the "Check What You Know" tests. There are also extra activities at different intervals throughout the book. The units in the students' book are organized by theme. Each focuses on an important vocabulary area and authentic material is used as the basis for language development. To encourage student autonomy, there is a wordlist in the firm of a mini-dictionary, a grammar index and the tapescripts at the back of the book.
