Lily's Journey Zusammenfassung

Lily's Journey Tania Crosse

When fifteen-year-old Lily Hayes loses her mother, she is forced to leave London to go to live with her estranged father in the wilds of Dartmoor. Accustomed to the bright lights of a big city, she is unprepared for the hardships of living in a remote, primitive cottage in an all-but-deserted village. And her newly found father isn't quite what she had expected, either. The dour Sidney Latham takes a little getting used to; he can be sullen and quiet, and he has a temper on him, but Lily is determined to make the best of things. And as Sidney's gruff manner slowly thaws, Lily learns some of the secrets of her family's past. It seems that a family she never knew she had were killed in a bomb-blast, and even the family members she does know about are not all that they seem. As if that isn't enough, Sidney has yet more secrets to tell, ones that will devastate the young girl. Though Lily's life has taken a dramatic turn for the worse, there are some things she is grateful for - the fact that she has met the handsome and charming Edwin Franfield being top of the list. But when tragedy strikes, a stranger with troubles of his own becomes her surprising saviour. A wonderfully atmospheric and captivating tale of young love and past mistakes set in the haunting Dartmoor countryside, in the years after the Second World War.
