While maintaining the successful features of earlier editions, this fourth edition is completely revised and rewritten to take account of recent developments in surveying instrumentation and computing techniques. In response to numerous requests, the chapter on setting out has been greatly amended and enlarged, and a completely new chapter on radial positioning and use of mapping systems has been added. With the advances in surveying technology, many traditional surveying methods have been rendered obsolete - all have been removed leaving a thoroughly modern textbook, which will satisfy the needs of today's students studying surveying from BTEC through to first year degree level.
