1872. No Edition Remarks. 377 pages. Fully bound in green leather with five raised bands to spine, by J G Wyly of Reading, with their stamp to front endpaper. Marbled endpapers and text block edges. With illustrated frontispiece. Pages are moderately tanned and foxed throughout. Thumb-marking present. Frontis heavily foxed with occasional marginal foxing and dust marks throughout. Visible creasing and dust marks to gutters. Some cracking to hinges and gutters, leaving binding slightly exposed. Pages remain intact. Faint pink liquid mark to reverse of title page and margin of preface. Slight pencil marks. Boards have heavily rubbed edges, with bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Spine and edges intensely sunned and rubbed. Visible peeling leather to spine and edges. Marks and scratches to boards. Only the imprint of the spine lettering remains.
