Sides and top of box also covered with red leather, with 'miniature poets' on top in dulled gilt. All page edges gilt. Minimal tanning to endpapers and page edges. Some of front hinges are cracked, with gutter cracking on occasion. Presentation plate inside top panel of box, dated 1889-90. Mild wear and bumping to spine, board edges and corners. Small chips to some spine ends. Notable tanning to spines, with soiling and marking to boards. Some volumes have bowed boards. The box is in three pieces, with one smaller side panel and the top section detached. The opposite side panel is missing, with both larger sides attached, but cracked at joints. Distinct scuffs, peeling, soiling and marks to the boards, with splitting and loss round edges.
