Who's Afraid?: Coping with Fear, Anxiety and Panic Attacks Alice Neville
A report published by The Royal College of Psychiatrists revealed that more than nine million Britons suffer from anxiety and/or irrational fears at some time in their lives. Aiming to help these people to help themselves, Alice Neville here examines the causes and symptoms, both psychological and physical, of acute anxiety. The book looks in detail at the various kinds of phobias, from school phobias, post-natal anxiety and night terrors, to social phobias, weather phobias, anxiety in the elderly and sexual problems. Different methods of prevention and treatment, both orthodox and complementary, are discussed in detail, but the author's main emphasis is on offering guidance for sufferers in building their own self-help programme. Alice Neville founded the original Open Door Organization for agoraphobics, and is the author of "Who's Afraid of Agoraphobia?".
