Using the new and exciting earth systems approach, Dr Merritts and her colleagues guide the students towards an understanding of earth's varied environments, the whole-earth systems connecting them and the ramifications of natural events and human intervention. Each of the earth systems - solid earth, fluid and energy systems - is treated in detail and discussed in relation to people, resources, hazards, management and change.
