As a self confessed 73 yr old well- read Male Chauvinist Pig,who accidentally picked up this book while my wife was out shopping,I feel well qualified to pass comment on this, one of the funniest books I have ever read. The hilarious antics of the 3 forty something heroines had me in stitches for hours,so much so, that I forgot to make myself some lunch.(The girls would say that men are incapable of looking after themselves anyway) Finally,I would say that any man who doesn't read this book deserves all he gets!! I'm desperately waiting for a sequel, please,Jane Blanchard 5-STAR READER REVIEW, AMAZON Jane Blanchard has done for the forty-somethings what Bridget Jones did for the thirty-somethings. And about time too. Life doesn't end at 40, quite the contrary, as Jane's book will testify. No matter how angst-ridden the situation, the 3 heroines Judith, Vicky and Sarah, sail through each crisis with a lightness and wit which leaves you begging for more. It may be a horny old cliche to say I couldn't put it down but in this case, it's totally true. The dialogue is spiced with original twists, the characters develop bit by bit, as the situations become more and more compelling. I defy you to stop reading once you start. Too complex to explain each story line, suffice to say they almost all get their man, but the rest you'll have to read for yourself. Oh, and the 3 main characters and their hapless suitors would make a rather glitzy film.Something with the lightness and sparkle of Four Weddings and a Funeral but for the middle-aged! 5-STAR READER REVIEW, AMAZON Addressing the concerns of the over forties rather than the abundance of chick-lit, this is a thought provoking novel even while it is written in a pacy light-hearted manner. More books like this, please, for the huge book buying public who are slightly older! 5-STAR READER REVIEW, AMAZON
