A Drop Too Many John Frost
This memoir of General Frost, who commanded the 2nd Parachute Regiment at Arnhem, where in an action of great gallantry they held the north end of the road bridge over the Rhine for three days and four nights, throws new light on many controversies. The regiment beat off repeated armoured and infantry assaults by far greater numbers, until forced out of their ruined and burning positions by losses, lack of ammunition and the failure of the whole Arnhem operation.
