Über Mark Hardie

Mark Hardie joined the Royal Marines at 25 and enjoyed many happy and challenging years in Operational Commando units followed by some very hard years where he was responsible for the organisational and ceremonial aspects of Royal Marines killed-in-action. Briefing and supporting the families of the fallen on the most difficult of days is where he truly learnt the meaning of duty and sacrifice. He was awarded an MBE in 2011 for his work supporting casualties. Mark has been involved in training recruits and soldiers to become commandos for operations in the harshest environments. He is Visiting Professor in 'Professional and Public Service Ethics' at Bath Spa University. Mark has learned to be prepared for anything, win through thinking and action and return your marines to a society better than when you took them on operations.
