To a man, the undergraduates fall madly in love with her, including the Duke of Dorset, a splendid young Apollo who seems the likeliest candidate. His vow to lay down his life for her has unpredictable consequences.

This centenary edition of Zuleika Dobson celebrates Max Beerbohm's only novel. Illustrated by the author, it represents a distillation of his highly idiosyncratic talent. He said that he only ever intended it as fantasy, and it is in such a spirit that it ought to be approached.
