This book takes the author from 1921 to 1952, combining an account of his private life and career as clerk, journalist and broadcaster with a sardonic survey of Indian and Bengali politics in the years that culminated. The author was born in a village in East Bengal in 1897. His books include A Passage to England, Hinduism and The Continent of Circe.
