This book provides an introduction to the writings of one of the world's greatest mystics, St John of the Cross. It should prove of interest to theologians, but is essentially designed for the non-academic reader who takes an interest in the spiritual life. Includes a summary of St John's life, but concentrates mainly on his teachings about the love of Christ and the way to a perfect union with God. Father Norbert Cummins is a Carmelite Priest and has written this book to commemorate the 400th centenary of St John's death.
