Due to the growing awareness of Germany as a trade partner the number of students choosing a German language option as part of their course has increased dramatically. Because students choosing a language option as part of their main course are not in the first instance linguists, their interest in the language is practical rather than purely linguistic and they want to see how knowledge of the language can be of use to them in their main field of study. This is equally the case with adults taking part in in-company training schemes or on adult education classes. Freut mich! (literally, "pleased to meet you!") caters for these practical needs. The book provides students with a grounding in common social situations as well as the ability to cope in business-related situations.
