Tom Kipper's Schooldays: Memories of an Irish Childhood in Liverpool Peter Sale

Meet Tom Kipper, Espionage Agent Extraordinaire. Born into a poor Irish family in Liverpool, Tom Kipper is now ten years old and full of mischief. A pupil at Saint Joseph's Academy ('of Hard Knocks'), he spends his days dodging Spiderlady McCann's vicious pencil and scrapping in the yeard once school's out. Well, what's life without a good smack in the kisser? The arrival of war in 1939 shakes Tom's world. Woodwork teacher Mr Schwenk has to leave, and an air raid reduces the Kippers' home to rubble. But for Tom, there are always adventures to be had, especially when he captures a real-life German pilot...

Über Peter Sale

Peter Sale was born in Liverpool to an Irish family and received his education at Saint Joseph's Academy of Hard Knocks. He left school at fourteen, ready for adventure, and, after ducking bombs with the American Red Cross in London, chasing Nazis in Hamburg, training with the New Zealand Air Force, writing country music in Nashville and appearing in Hollywood TV commercials, he settled down to write about his childhood memories. Peter now lives with his wife Carmelisa in a town called Paradise, California, where he is at work on his second Tom Kipper novel. TOM KIPPER'S SCHOOLDAYS was originally self-published in the USA under the title, A RIVER OF SCOUSE.
