Tokyo Doesn't Love Us Anymore Ray Loriga

A salesman for The Company searches hazily for his wife, grasping at memories just out of reach. When they ask after her he tells them she's dead. They say she may be in Tokyo. Set in the very near future, Tokyo Doesn't Love Us Anymore presents a dystopian vision akin to Orwell's 1984 - while evoking the bewildering visual universe of Blade Runner. One of Spain's most successful authors has produced a dizzying picaresque novel of drug-fuelled nights and wild sexual encounters: dealing with issues as diverse as loss, chemical dependency and the power of the multi-national conglomerates.

Tokyo Doesn't Love Us Anymore Bewertungen

It is not difficult to see why he has been hailed as the voice of the new generation in Spain . . . both serious and funny. * * Daily Telegraph * *
My Brother's Gun is sleekly written, and Loriga's disregard for linear time-lines pulls you onwards and downwards. * * The Face * *
Ray Loriga writes like a post-existentialist bastard son of Camus, or even Emmanuel Bove. My Brother's Gun drags the corpse of The Outsider across the apocalyptic border between the twentieth century and the millennium. -- Barry Gifford
A fascinating cross between Marguerite Duras and Jim Thompson. -- Pedro Almodovar
